I photograph nature sea waves, natural landscapes, and wilderness. Gazing into the perpetual sea, mountains rising into the distance, sky, and air, and, using a digital camera (which can pick up a wider spectrum of color and light values than the human eye), I record images of dynamic landscapes. Back in my studio, I sensitively render the memory of nature. My pictures convey an aesthetic and experiential perception of nature. I am describing a natural landscape that seemingly has no end.

Sun and Clouds 2010

Infinity is an essential element to this work, though it cant be photographed. Nature or any landscape is impossible to portray in its entirety. I present these images on a small scale to be sure that one may conceptualize nature continuing beyond the borders of the print, just as it expands beyond all known borders. Though we immerse ourselves in the natural world, see it, feel it, smell and taste it, we cannot know its totality. We can get close, but there is always more, beyond reach.
