Tillmann's objects are back-lit with the latest LED technology that is primarily used for stage design. The light display can be programmed, whereas every single LED is individually controllable in colour and intensity. The light can be even manipulated with a digital video camera that conveys the audience's movement into a digital signal.
The double sided motifs gain a three-dimensional effect. According to the intensity of light, parts of the motif become more or less visible; the programming effects the particular dynamics.
Accurately constructed geometric spaces form the basis of the motifs. These spaces are then diversified by multiplication, overlaying, and distortion until they release spatial forces. Within this composition, the viewer acts as a modulator for light intensity, colour and velocity. He dives into the light, manipulates it and is part of the space created.
