My art practice follows three avenues – performance, web art, and video installation. – – In performance, I am interested in engaging with audiences as a means of orchestrating everyday activities away from their usual context, where audiences are made up of participants and who are not necessarily expecting art. I have offered free advice, shampooed hair, sewed messages into people’s clothing seams, brought plants into people’s homes, and borrowed objects from strangers.

On the web, I am interested in non-linear narrative, interactivity, pop-culture, confusion, and poetics. ‘Stand By Your Guns’ masquerades as a children’s fun centre that simultaneously glorifies and vilifies the handgun; ‘Ivy League’ is an activist project advocating the 'dispersal and eradication' of English Ivy.

In video I am interested in absurd juxtapositions in popular and official culture such as Charlton Hestons’ appointment as President and spokesperson of the National Rifle Association; the language of U.S. Alien documentation; and my physical resemblance to a younger Meryl Streep. I am becoming increasingly interested in the cult of celebrity, as it relates to personal identity. My latest work is a series of videos where I have inserted my image into films featuring Hollywood actors, creating new narratives from something familiar.
