ABOUT PAINTING at a new location where the context changes. While in the urban environment the general sense of creation was “introspection,” suddenly a new terrain provides a different perspective. By stepping outside the inhabited box the edge of the table becomes the horizon, plants in pots are now trees. The thick line, thins and is elusive. The comings and goings of the sea shift the concern from definition to presence in the landscape.
