*1967, Germany – lives and works in Leipzig

Baumgartner combines in her work one of the oldest techniques of reproduction with one of the most recent, contrasting the continual shifting of video with a permanent image in wood. In her woodcuts based on own films and video stills she deals intensively with concepts of time, space and motion, and the problem of depicting them.
