2007 1 - 8 pm
bluetenweiss, Raum fuer Kunst - a temporary
project space - opened in October 2006 with the one evening show
titled Anonymous Drawings 1. Due to the huge amount of international
submissions and the positive public response, the fifth edition
Anonymous Drawings 5, will take place at March 17th
2007.
Concept and Idea of Anonymous
Drawings Drawings (size max. DIN A3 = 29,70 x 42,00 cm / 11"

until their work(s) are sold. Works will sell for a uniform price of
Euro 100. Buyers will be informed of the artist’s identity upon
purchase of his/her work. Exhibited drawings will be the work of
both professional and non-professional artists. Because of this, we
ask that the viewer him/herself draw the line between Art and
Non-Art. The artists agree to stay their individual person in the
background in favour of their product. A priori for the evaluation
of the work on this evening is not the name and the biography of the
individual artist, but the work actually
shown.

FESTIVAL
5th Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival,
Portugal Deadline: 13 April 2007
The 15th
Vila do Conde Shorts has kept its most prominent characteristic:
evolution. Instead of settling for a formula, right from the start,
the Festival chose to focus its attention on transformation and
change while keeping an eye on everything that happens in the field
of cinema. This is why not only the programming philosophy is
regularly changed so that it can keep up with emerging trends within
the arts and the progress in cinematographic and video languages,
but there’s also been a move towards (and an impact in) visual arts
from which more and more artists emerge with new work to be shown in
this Festival.
Admission Conditions Animations,
documentaries, experimental films, fictions, and music videos, in
16mm, 35mm or BETACAM-SP/Pal, produced in 2006 or 2007, no longer
than 60 minutes, preferably subtitled in Portuguese or

for UK visual artists, makers, critical writers and curators
2007 Deadline for Applications: 16 April 2007
6th
August –14th September 2007
The Fairbairn Programme is a new
initiative for COVE
PARK, funded by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation. It will provide
the opportunity for six individuals to spend six weeks at COVE PARK,
enabling the creation of new work and the development of new ideas
between visual artists, curators and critical writers in a programme
which will be unique in the UK.
The programme’s aim is to
bring together mid-career professionals, established within their
specific fields; by mid-career we mean those individuals who have
graduated from BA courses or the equivalent and have had a minimum
of six years working as a professional visual artist, curator or
critical writer. They will have established a strong exhibition,
project or publishing record in the UK and are working increasingly
in an international context. Our aim is to award residencies to four
visual artists (of whom at least one will specialise in contemporary
crafts/design), one curator and one critical writer, all of whom are
normally based in the UK.
Each resident will be provided with
a fee, (and when relevant a materials allowance), accommodation and
dedicated workspace on site, the support of Cove Park’s staff and
access to all of the organisation’s facilities. There will be plenty
of time and space for individual work, but COVE PARK will enhance
opportunities for the participants through a creative development
programme which will facilitate opportunities for discussion and
exchange amongst the residents, by organising peer presentations,
day trips and talks with invited guests.
