Notions of Wilderness , LiveBox at Kasia Kay Art Projects, Chicago
Deadline : April 1st, 2007

Open call for new media projects. "Notions of Wilderness" is an exhibition that will take place at Kasia Kay Art Projects, a commercial gallery located in Chicago's primary setting for contemporary art galleries.

The exhibition will include all mediums, but this call is specifically for new media. The exhibition will run in June 2007. The word wilderness is derived from the notion of wildness; uncultivated, uninhabited, in other words without human modification. The social and political realities of "nature verses economics" makes defining wilderness in the 21st Century ever more elusive. What is "wild", what can be called "wilderness", what is the measure of human "influence" that defines wildness?

LiveBox is looking for compelling new media projects exploring aspects of wilderness.

Please check the website for submission guidelines, or contact cf@liveboxgallery.com.

Ongoing Open call for Single Channel Video: searching for new works for upcoming screenings and curatorial projects.
