Jerwood Sculpture Prize 2006
Deadline: 15 December 2006.

The Jerwood Charitable Foundation invites artists to submit proposals for the Jerwood Sculpture Prize 2006.

Since its creation in 2001, the Jerwood Sculpture Prize has become one of the most significant commissioning prizes for sculpture in the UK to date. Every two years the Jerwood Charitable Foundation awards one artist £25,000 to create a piece of outdoor sculpture which will be exhibited at the Jerwood Sculpture Park at Ragley, Warwickshire. In previous years, sculptures by Benedict Carpenter, Gereon Krebber, and last year’s winner, Judith Dean, have been added to the Jerwood Sculpture Park’s collection.

The prize is structured to promote and award emerging talent in the creation of outdoor sculpture and is open to UK artists within 15 years of graduation. Artists are invited to submit drawings, written statements and plans for their proposed commission.

BENEFIT
Postcards from the Edge benefit for Visual AIDS, New York
Deadline : November 10, 2006

Visual AIDS invites artists to participate in our ninth annual Postcards From the Edge benefit. We are looking for artists to donate a 4"x6" original work on paper for the exhibition and sale. Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking and mixed media are all welcome.

Hosted by Sikkema Jenkins & Co.
Preview Party: December 1-3, 2006 World AIDS Day
Benefit Sale: December 2 & 3, 2006

DEADLINE for submissions is postmark Friday, November 10, 2006 (NO late entries)

Postcards From the Edge is a show and sale of original, postcard-size artworks on paper by established and emerging artists. All artworks are $75 and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The works are signed on the back and exhibited so that the artists' signatures cannot be seen. While buyers have a list of all participating artists, they don't know who created which piece until it is purchased and the signature is revealed. A collector might end up with a work by a famous artist or one they don't yet know. Either way, they walk away with a great piece of art while supporting Visual AIDS's important work.

To participate, download Submission Forms

If you can not download submission forms and/or would like a blank Canson postcard mailed to you, please send a 6" x 9" SASE to Visual AIDS, 526 West 26th Street #510,New York, NY 10001

All proceeds support the programs of Visual AIDS. Founded in 1988, Visual AIDS promotes AIDS awareness through the visual arts. Through the Frank Moore Archive Project, we assist and provide services to artists with HIV/AIDS: free photo-documentation of artwork, inclusion in the slide registry, exhibition opportunities, material and emergency grants, career advice and advocacy.
