Art Interactive, a non-profit exhibition space in Cambridge, MA, invites curators to submit exhibition proposals for 8-week exhibitions. Art Interactive's mission is to provide a public forum that fosters self- expression and human interaction through the exhibition of art that is contemporary, experimental, and participatory. CURATORIAL AND INDIVIDUAL submissions for Screen Based work
DEADLINE : APRIL 1st, 2006 ( for Nova Young Art Fair )

Single channel video will likely be the primary medium, however, web based, real time, interactive work, fundamentally any compelling new media idea fitting an appropriation with the screen will be considered. All entries must include a "digital" (CD) resume, bio, artist statement and short synopsis of the project. Media work must be on DVD. Submissions are viewed on an ongoing basis, but if you wish to be considered for the NOVA Art Fair Chicago (www.novayoungartfair.com, submissions must be received by April 1.

GRANTS
FRANKLIN FURNACE, NYC, USA

Each year Franklin Furnace awards grants in two categories. (1) "The Franklin Furnace Fund for Performance Art" supports emerging performance artists, allowing them to produce major works in New York; and (2) "The Future of the Present" funds the creation of "live art on the Internet," works which engage the Internet as an art medium and/or venue. Grants from either fund range between $2,000 and $5,000. Artists from all areas of the world are encouraged to apply.

MAGAZINE
theARTDISK, a DVD magazine, Chicago, IL, USA
DEADLINE: May 1st, 2006

The first annual ArtDisk DVD magazine is currently seeking submissions for its Art Trailer section. Art Trailers showcases a selection of moving image territory, including Video Art, Film, Performance, Installation, etc. We are looking for works by national, international, emerging and established artists. Art Trailer submissions may consist of a complete work, a trailer or an excerpt. Submissions must be 30 seconds or 1 minute in length.

The premier issue is comprised of three independent segments that form the ArtDisk DVD magazine: scheduled for release Fall 2006.

  • SHORT TALKS presents working artists in their own words.
  • ART TRAILERS exhibits :30 and :60 second works of Video Art, Film, Performance, Installation, etc.
  • CURATED A guest Curator will select up to ten pieces to showcase from a variety of image-based media.

RESIDENCY
ICA, Institute of Contemporary Art, London, UK
Digital Artist's Residency
DEADLINE : 28 April 2006

The ICA is looking for a digital/media artist or small collective working in either a visual, on-line, 'live- digital' practice or installation field to take up residency for a period to be determined from 1 June 2006.
The selected artist(s) will give at least two public talks and two education workshops, and will have access to the equipment and facilities of the new ‘Digital Lab’ for a maximum of two weekdays from 10am and at weekends, from 12 noon.
The work will then be exhibited or performed in either the digital studio or theatre (depending on the work).

Send a one-page outline of proposed work including any special requirements — either technical or logistical — plus clarification of how the project will be completed within the agreed period. Also send a CV of previous work, experience, credentials and web links.

WOODSTOCK A-I-R is a workspace residency program designed to support artists of color working in the photographic arts who reside in the United States with access to time, facilities, financial, critical, and technical support. This activity is created with an emphasis on supporting artists working in the photographic arts who are at the brink of their careers and promising talent. All of us lead very busy lives – the drive for this program is to free the artist - from the busy routines and demands of everyday – and to provide a sanctuary for creativity.

COME TOGETHER : A Three Week Intensive Programe in Art & Social Engagement

Join The Kitchen and Summer Institute Artistic Director Harrell Fletcher for a three-week, intensive program, fully accredited by Sarah Lawrence College (3 credits), focusing on expanded ideas of art-making and creativity in relation to collaboration, community involvement, and activism. Throughout the program, artists will explore a wide range of socially-responsive and community-based art practices as they go out into The Kitchen’s Chelsea neighborhood to research and develop site-related projects.
