NARS Foundation Emerging Curator, New York

The New York Art Residency and Studios (NARS) Foundation is pleased to announce its second annual Emerging Curator Open Call. The Emerging Curator Program offers an opportunity for a young-in-career curator to present a group show at the NARS Foundation Gallery. The aim of the program is to encourage new dialogue and to create a platform for artists and curators to experiment and exchange ideas.  

 

 

EXHIBITION

Angelika Open, 2012, UK

Deadline: 30th April 2012
Application Fee: £10 for one work

The inaugural Angelika Open is an open competition and exhibition inviting work from artists in any medium. Work should be recent. Size limitations are according to available space. An award of £1,000 will be made to one selected artist and the winner will be offered an exhibition in the Gallery program. Angelika Studios is an independent, artist run, work and project space.  

 

 

Field Projects, New York Open Call for Submissions

Now entering its fourth year, Low Lives is an international festival of live performance-based works transmitted via the internet and projected in real time at multiple venues throughout the U.S. and around the world. Low Lives examines works that critically investigate, challenge, and extend the potential of performance practice presented live through online broadcasting networks.

The Way Forward: Film Screening, Nottingham UK

Exhibition: 23rd May- 8th July.

We are looking to present silent, short films that look at the history of moving image development. The screening will illustrate works that explore archaic images and methods of film making, looking at repetition and pattern and artists who examine the similarities found in the past and present, creating new ideas for the 21st Century.

London Festival of Photography Prize

Call for submissions for 100 Survivors, a collaborative, web-based photo and video project for women currently in treatment for breast cancer or diagnosed in the past three years. Shooting from a list of 12 tags, participants share photos, videos, and stories.

Since the early 1800's and the beginning of the American Landscape movement, the Catskill escarpment has remained an enduring source of artistic inspiration for generations of artists. Our residency, the only one in the country situated in the historic landscapes which were the inspiration for the Hudson River School, provides a tranquil and rustic workplace. A retreat for artists, working in a variety of disciplines, located in the living landscape where American art began.  

 

 

ComPeung Grant 2012 - Call for applications, Thailand

We are calling for applications for 2 one month ComPeung AiR grants for 2012. ComPeung is located in Doi Saket, Chiang Mai Province, Northern Thailand. Despite just being 20 km northeast of the city of Chiang Mai, Doi Saket has escaped the tourism trap so far. Due to its position Doi Saket is also the gateway to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle.
