Los Angeles Center For Digital Art "TOP 40" Juried Show
Deadline : February 26, 2006

Exhibition dates: March 9 – April 1, 2006

LACDA announces our "TOP 40" juried competition for digital art and photography. Entrants submit three JPEG files of original work. All styles of 2D artwork and photography where digital processes of any kind were integral to the creation of the images are acceptable. Open to all geographical locations. Forty (!) selected winners recieve one print up to 24x36 on museum quality paper to be shown in an international group exhibition in our gallery from March 9-April 1, 2006. The show will be widely promoted and will include a reception for the artists. Entry fee is $30 US.

POSITIONS
The Contemporary Image Collective, Cairo : General Director (full time) | Senior Administrative Assistant (full time)

An independent, artist-run collective dedicated to the Visual Image is seeking to fill the following positions:
1. General Director (full time)
- University degree in management. MBA is an asset.
- Responsible for the daily management for all the Centre’s activities and staff.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a middle-level manager in a medium/large organisation.
- Experience in cultural management is a great asset.

2. Senior Administrative Assistant (full time)
- Minimum 5 years of office management experience with administrative/supervisory responsibilities.
- Advanced knowledge of personal computers, word processing and excel
- Knowledge of principles and practices of basic accounting

3. PR/Fundraiser (part time)
- University degree in Mass Communication or a comparable degree
- Minimum 3 year experience in PR/Fundraising
- Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills (in Arabic and English)

OPEN CALL FOR PROJECT PROPOSALS - Art in General commissions challenging new work to visual artists. With a yearly open call and a simple online application process, Art in General invites artists in the New York City area to propose projects in any medium or form— from painting to sculpture to performance to video to other, perhaps undefined, type of art or interdisciplinary work. This open call is for artists with studio or post-studio practice. It has no thematic or spatial parameters. Artists can choose to present a project proposal based on long-standing or emerging interests.

UNIDEE in Residence is an international residence program open to students and graduates of various university faculties, to artists and to professionals from any country in the world.
The growing interest in researching and developing ideas in all sectors of society is not interpreted by UNIDEE in generic terms but as the need for a creative contribution to transformation in all areas of activity. UNIDEE offers all the course participants an experience unlike anything offered in any other university or academic program. Work is grounded in an imaginative and research-oriented practice that operates within each discipline and is directed towards the responsible transformation of society. UNIDEE residents live and work on the Cittadellarte site, a pleasing example of industrial archaeology, and participate in courses, workshops, public meetings and exhibitions.

Valand educates young artists that within each year represent a broad view of the possibilities within contemporary art — from non-visual practise to social sculpture to traditional techniques. The staff are active artists and teachers with a broad range of expertise. Students work in individual studios or project studios and have access to well equipped workshops: wood, metal and sculpture, computer labs, digital and analog photography labs, video production and editing, sound studio, screeningroom, printmaking and papermaking workshops, library and two galleries, one student-run. Circa a hundred students study at Valand.

Emerging and mid-career artists working in painting and drawing are eligible. Artists pursue their ongoing work in an intensive, four-week summer residency studio program in New York City. VIDEO & PERFORMANCE
ET TU TRIBUTE : The Embassy, Edinburgh

The Embassy are looking for all artists wishing to pay homage to another for a Video and Performance TRIBUTE night.
This will be the 5th video and performance event organised by the Embassy in the venerable Edinburgh College of Art Sculpture Court.
Works are to be a tribute to previous videos / performances / bands etc. however work that might compliment the theme shall be considered also. Works must last no longer than 15 minutes.
Please send: Video/DVDs of specific work OR A clear proposal for a performance and documentation of previous work (on video or DVD only) AND CV, Statement and SAE (if your work is to be returned to you)
