AWARD 

Abbey Painting Awards 2012

Abbey Awards are open to citizens of the UK and the US. Abbey Awards are also open to painters of other nationalities provided they have been resident in the UK or US for at least five years.The Abbey Scholarship offers an early-career painter a full academic year (October to June) at the British School at Rome. The Abbey Fellowships offer mid-career painters three months at the School during the same period. There is no age limit.

Local Berlin curator sought for MFA exhibition summer 2012

Transart Institute, an international MFA/PhD art program will hold a summer MFA thesis exhibition at the Atelierhof Kreuzberg in Berlin from July 28 - August 11, 2012 for eleven artists working in a range of media, including video, performance, sculpture, and sound. The exhibition curator will conduct "studio" visits via Skype in the spring giving editing and installation input and meet up with the students on site the week prior to the exhibition for installation giving the students insight into the curatorial process and instructions on professional development.

We invite proposals for papers, presentations, or performances of 30 minutes exploring the desire and attempt to materialise what is absent via the medium of haunted landscapes or through the manifestation of a ghost. We would like to hear from practising artists as well as researchers within the fields of anthropology, art history, cultural studies, film studies, history, law, literary studies, parapsychology, psychology, philosophy etc.

Harpo Foundation will use a new 2-step application process to review proposals submitted by non-profit institutions and fiscal sponsors who seek support on behalf of under recognized visual artists. The foundation will consider proposals that directly support the production of new work by visual artists and/or collaborative teams who are under recognized by the field. This production may happen in the context of an installation, public intervention, residency, or exhibition

Yara Arts Group is a resident company at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in New York. Established in 1990, Yara is a collective of artists of Asian, African, Latino, Eastern and Western European ancestry, who come together to create original work based on contemporary and traditional material from often-overlooked Eastern cultures.

E IL TOPO, in collaboration with CAREOF DOCVA Milan and SUPPORTICO LOPEZ Berlin, calls for submissions for its Number 12 titled "Re-Birth". The open call is for the retrieval of photographic material, more specifically portraits, of personalities from the art world who passed away along the last 16 years, thus in the lapse of time in which E IL TOPO disappeared without a trace.

The I-Park Foundation, Inc., a 450-acre natural woodland retreat in East Haddam, CT (U.S), announces its twelfth season hosting its multi-disciplinary residency program. Self-directed artists' residencies will be offered from May through November 2012, with off-season sessions in April and December. Most residencies are four weeks in duration.
