Open Empty Spaces - Public Art

2011 Open Empty Spaces is an artist-led
curatorial project promoting the creation of temporary
non-gallery based exhibiting spaces in the public realm in
cities throughout the UK. Open Empty Spaces is currently
inviting proposals from visual artists, at any stage in their
career, working in any medium, to produce site-specific,
temporary artworks for a project taking place in April

the Waiting Programme, with LSHP (Liverpool Sefton Health

exhibition themed around the artist knock off and counterfeit.
RSA NEW COLLECTIVE encourages you to submit work, which deals
with the overbearing influence of artists that have come

RESIDENCY |

Funded Residencies -
SculptureSpace, Utica, New York Deadline: December 1,
2010 Twenty artists
are selected every year. Each receives a $2000 stipend toward
residency expenses. The selection is made by the Sculpture
Space Review Committee and a rotating guest panelist. Artists
are notified in March of the panel's decision. Primary
criteria are quality, originality, and potential for growth.
Non-New York artists pay a nominal fee toward housing. Free
housing and $100 transportation stipend are available for New
York State artists. Read

STUDIO |
|
IN PROCESS 2011, Winter Studio
Program, Carriage House, Islip Art Museum, NY Deadline: December 15,
2010
This Studio
Program takes place in the Carriage House at the Islip Art
Museum. The galleries are transformed into working space
during the winter months. 3 artists will be selected who wish
to use the space as a studio from February though April, 2011
(3 months). Each artist will be given a large, private working
area with 24-hour access to the building. The Museum wants to
give artists an opportunity to work on demanding projects that
would normally be difficult to do without the space offered by
the Carriage House.
