The Fifth Curator - International Curatorial Competition

7th Mercosur Biennial: Grito e Escuta / Screaming and Hearing, Porto Alegre, Brazil

We invite artists from around the world to present projects for the exhibition Projetáveis [Projectables], one of the seven exhibitions in the 7th Mercosur Biennial, to take place at the Santander Cultural in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from October 16 to November 29, 2009.
Conceived by artist Roberto Jacoby, this chapter of the Biennial sets out to explore the materialization and specific localization of projects that, regardless of geographical borders or ultimate supports, use the world wide web as their primary channel.

Grants are given to experimental films, as well as installations and performances.
Video projects or works intended to be finished on video or any digital format are not eligible for competition. All filmmakers regardless of nationality, age, or place of residence are eligible to apply. There is no fee or limit to the number of works submitted by each apllicant. All works submitted must have been completed in the year preceding the application. Two grants are awarded annually

ARTISTS WITHOUT STUDIOS PRIZE : Ben Uri Gallery: London Jewish Museum of Art

Ben Uri is delighted to announce a new competition for young artists, providing them with a residency and a public exhibition of the resulting work. This summer, the gallery will divide its exhibition space into a number of discrete artists' 'studios', allowing up to four young artists the time and space to work on a project. Ben Uri will be open to the public from 2-5.30pm during this time and so the artists can work uninterrupted in the mornings and will be encouraged to engage with visitors and explain their practice during their work in the afternoons.

Art Space Portsmouth invites applications for the ASP International Residency 2009. The residency is aimed at emerging fine artists with some experience of professional practice who may have had limited exposure in the UK and whose work is engaged with contemporary debate within the international art world. The residency is non-prescriptive allowing the artist to develop work in response to their environment. The selected artist will reside in Portsmouth for a period of 3 months between September and December 2009.

These are usually obvious for a number of reasons including poor language, bad grammar, lack of detailed contact info, etc, but most importantly they are too quick to discuss the buying of works and shipping costs.

At re-title.com we offer a verification service to artist members so that they may avoid replying to fraudulent approaches.
