Proposals, Chicago Deadline February 28,
2009As part of the festival we are
starting special projects and collaborations. The first one we
are pleased to announce is called: Codename: WPA Bridgeport
Project 1. This project is meant to be an imagined cultural
program that the federal government would instigate as part of
the new Economic Stimulus Project being put through Congress
by the Obama Administration. Inspired by Roosevelt's New Deal
cultural programs under the WPA (WORKS PROGRESS
ADMINISTRATION) we hope this project underscores the necessity
for the support of artists and the idea of civic
responsibility to the greater society. Read

new media artists with grants up to $2,500 to help with the
completion of diverse and innovative moving-image and sonic
art projects, and works for the Web and new technologies.
Eligible forms include film and video as single or multiple
channel presentation, computer based moving-imagery and sound
works, installations and performances, interactive works and
works for new technologies, DVD, multimedia and the Web. We
