THE MFA CREATIVE PRACTICE is an international masters program for working artists with summer residencies in Europe, winter residencies in New York and one-on-one advisement during two academic years - wherever students work and live. Students pursue work in any art-related genre and create their own course of study, working independently and with the support of self-chosen studio and research advisors. Short periods of intensive residency permit students to continue with their professional work and keep a balanced personal life while participating in the program. The majority of Transart students are emerging and mid-career artists and teachers at tertiary institutions. Transart Institute's residencies are a place for cultural exchange. Current students will converge for the summer residency from areas as diverse as Puerto Rico, Pakistan, Iceland, Croatia, Ethiopia, Canada, Costa Rica, Germany, Austria, Egypt, the Netherlands, the Philip pines, the UK and the US.

US FEDERAL STUDENT LOANS will become available to US students through the University of Plymouth when the university's US Department of Education recognition as foreign school will be renewed this fall. In addition, Tuition payment plans are being offered to students who do not have access to US or Canadian government support programs and/or prefer not to borrow for their education. More information on scholarships and payment plans can be found on the Transart Institute website

A PATH TO A STUDIO BASED PhD is in progress and practice-based doctoral programs are currently available through University of Plymouth. For more information or to subscribe to upcoming news about a Transart Institute PhD program please contact: cella@transartinstitute.org

A SUMMER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM is being offered for artists who are not seeking a degree. Participants join MFA students in workshops, lectures and critiques and leave the residency with input on project plans for the year ahead. Artists attend the residency to get a creative surge, get a fresh perspective on their work, revitalize their practice, take their work in a new direction, make plans for a focussed praxis in the year ahead and to become part of an international community of artists, theorists and curators. Artists who successfully complete the residency will receive a non-credit certificate of attendance.

ALL PROGRAMS AT TRANSART INSTITUTE are geared towards the development of a sustainable artistic praxis rather than training in certain media or genres, challenging students to think conceptually and work creatively in new ways. Current students work with animation, curating, digital media, film, gaming, graphic design, installation, painting, performance, photography, robotics, sculpture, sound, text, video, virtual reality.
