Binoculars by Mar Canet & Varvara Guljajeva will connect several cities in real-time. You will look through binoculars which offer a panorama view in a remote city. Watch the hustle and bustle at a distant place which is filmed by a camera. At the same time your observing eye will be projected onto the urban screen of the remote city.
Bikes slow down the normal pace of urban exploration and allow hidden, distant areas of the city to become visible and accessible with the project TransEurope Slow by Sergio Galan from Uncoded Collective. This trans-located cycling journey seamlessly links the explorations of various European cities, connecting these urban locations and highlighting their differences, and similarities.
You can even interact with other people through clouds in which you can be projected. Exchange with other cultures in the project Ready to Cloud by The Constitute.

The Connecting Cities Network (CCN) reflects on the increasing worldwide presence of large-format digital media in the public space and examines their function as cultural and communicative elements. By circulating artistic content on an internationally networked infrastructure of urban media facades, the CCN questions the increasing commercialization of our urban environments and supports the idea of the public space as a space for creativity, visibility and exchange of culture.
The CCN organises every year a series of Connecting Cities Events which open a networked infrastructure of media facades and screens as a new communication platform for presenting artists' projects at central places of 16 cities worldwide. The Connecting Cities projects encourage trans-local dialogue not only between players of the cultural and artistic fields, but between citizens in general due to their strong interactive and participatory potential. Thanks to the real-time connectedness of the participating cities, messages can be exchanged, visions can be shared.
In 2013 several Connecting Cities Events take place between August and November in 12 different cities.
