Based in Islington in London, UK, Sesame is a gallery dedicated to discovering and promoting emerging artists, as well as presenting curated shows that reflect exciting new movements in contemporary art.

Established in 2003, the gallery has developed a strong focus on painting, representing artists whose work combines a sound knowledge of what has gone before it with a desire to break new ground in a way that is both historically informed and innovative. As such, the Sesame stable brings together artists whose work is bold, distinctive, and both intellectually and aesthetically engaging.

Sesame also works with a number of artists who, although not painters, still share this same spirit of innovation in their respective media, and who distinguish themselves with a clear and coherent aesthetic.

Thanks to the gallery’s mission of actively seeking out and nurturing emerging talent, the exhibition programme provides a unique opportunity to discover artists creating some truly outstanding and original work, and then track their progress as they develop and establish themselves within the contemporary market.
