In 2006, the gallery relocated to a 3,000 square-foot, ground-floor exhibition space at 557 West 23rd Street in West Chelsea. I-20 was founded by Paul Judelson in 1997. The gallery program features contemporary art in all mediums, with interest in new media; and many of the artists were introduced for the first time at the gallery. The program includes an ongoing series of exhibition catalogues, with 22 publications to date.
The gallery recently assisted Eduardo Sarabia in opening his cantina and visual arts space in Berlin, Salon Aleman. On September 15, I-20 opened a group exhibition entitled “Shallow,” with works of Pierre Bismuth, Stefan Brüggemann, Martin Creed, Miltos Manetas and Malcolm McLaren.
