Through Eastern Eyes presents an eclectic collection of modern and contemporary painting from Asia, on show at the Arndean Gallery, 23 Cork Street, London for ONE week only, 17th-22nd March (open 12-8pm daily; closing at 4pm on the last day).
Painting with lacquer has long been a traditional craft in Vietnam, but over the last 50 years it has been elevated to the status of 'fine art'. Dinh Quan has been at the forefront of innovation in the medium, as has Dao Minh Tri. Thanh Mai is a young artist working in Ho Chi Minh City, and Chuongs 'Buffalo Kids' are recognised and sought after across Asia and the USA.
In addition, we are showing a collection of Chinese ink and watercolours from X'ian; a leading Singaporean, Ang Ah Tee; He Hongwei, an exciting new Chinese artist already creating a stir in Beijing; and several young Vietnamese artists.
