The most important aspect of my translocating identity is memory. In an attempt to describe my own identity I probe the layers of my individualized memory. While creating my artwork, I uncover important memories that have receded or seemingly faded away over time. As I reflect on the work I cannot help but to see my memories as both isolating experiences and the building blocks for metaphors of shared human experience.
My artwork addresses memory through things people are likely to have experienced or touched at least once in their lives. Making castings of these objects and grouping them in sculptural environments, I prod viewers to recreate their own experiences based on the illusion of tangible moments suggested by my object installations.
