800 LINCOLN ROAD GALLERY KX2=Art Opening Reception Saturday February 23, 2008 7-10 pm KX2 is a collaboration between sisters Ruth Avra and Dana Kleinman.
KX2 incorporates both of the artists’ creative strengths and in doing so, blurs the line between traditional metalwork and painting techniques. Sheet metal is cut into shapes and worked to create unique textures. Through the windows in the metal, stunning oil on raw canvas paintings add an unexpected excitement and energy to the work. The pieces work through an idea of connection, be it family or personal connection, the connection of two seemingly separate disciplines, and representative of the connection of all living things.
K x 2=art will be their debut solo exhibition and will feature numerous new wall pieces. Please join the artists at their opening reception Saturday, February 23rd, from 7 – 10pm. KX2 will donate a percentage of the proceeds to the American Diabetes Association in memory of their father Joel C. Kleinman.
The exhibition will be on view at the ACSF Gallery located at 800 Lincoln road and Meridian Avenue opens on February 22, 2008 and runs through March 30, 2008 Free and open to the public

Opening Reception: Friday, April 18, 2007 7 – 10pm What Are You Laughing At? brings together the work of five artists ranging in media and disciplines from installation, to painting and performance that entice the viewer with the comedic absurdity with which they examine issues as complex as religion, media saturation, co-modification, time and nostalgia, among others. What Are You Laughing At? poses questions about the role of comedy in art and features the work of ArtCenter Artist-in-Residence David Leroi, David Hevel, Scott Listfield, Leslie Hall, and Abby Manock.
