Die Ausstellung „Die obskuren Objekte meiner Begierde“ bietet überraschende Einblicke und mutet seltsam persönlich an. Eine ausgewogene Mischung verschiedener künstlerischer Spielarten animiert die Lust am Schauen, gepaart mit dem Verlangen eines fachmännischen Beurteilens. Diese innige Verbindung von Emotion und Theorie regt subtil die Urteilskraft an. Ein kollektiver Genuss, der alle Sinne anspricht. Werke aus dem Repertoire des Hilger contemporary (Asgar/Gabriel, Oliver Dorfer, Vasilena Gankovska, Ai Kijima, Brian McKee, Sara Rahbar) und Hilger modern (Mel Ramos, Andy Warhol) interagieren mit zeitgenössischen internationalen Positionen von Tony Cragg, Javier Arce, Tom Sachs, Larissa Sansour, Vladimir Skrepl und Erwin Wurm. Die Arbeiten treffen einander an der Schnittstelle von Malerei, Fotografie, Bildhauerei und Textilarbeiten. Das Ziel ist es im Sichtbaren das Verborgene erkennbar zu machen, das Obskure der Begierde offen zu legen. Die ästhetische Erfahrung und Stimulation ist als Nebeneffekt wahrzunehmen.
The exhibition “The obscure objects of my desire” offers a surprising insight and appears strangely personal. A balanced mixture of different artistic varieties animates the delight of viewing, paired with the requirement of an expert judgment. This intimate connection of emotion and theory stimulates the power of reasoning. A collective pleasure that draws upon all the senses. Works from the repertoire of Hilger contemporary (Asgar/Gabriel, Oliver Dorfer, Vasilena, Gankovska, Ai Kijima, Brian McKee, Sara Rahbar) and Hilger modern (Mel Ramos, Andy Warhol) integrate with the coeval positions from Tony Cragg, Javier Arce, Larissa Sansour, Tom Sachs, Vladimir Skrepl and Erwin Wurm. The works meet each one another at the interface of painting, photography, sculpture and textile works. The goal is to make the concealed recognisable in the visible to reveal the obscurity of desire. The aesthetic experience and stimulation is to be perceived as a secondary effect.
