March 21- April 19, 2008 Opening reception: Friday, March 21, 7pm
Daniel Hug Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of the work of Brett Lund titled Brett Lunds AlphaVille. In this exhibition Lund presents a new series of sculptures and flat works centered around a constructed platform, elaborating on his last exhibition titled Iconorgasmatron in the Project Room at Daniel Hug in 2007.
Lund combines traditional materials including plaster and clay with post-industrial materials such as spray paint, expanding foam, shrink-wrap and found printed media to create organic forms with strong references to Human Physicality. Incorporating pedestals and plinths, Lunds sculptures resemble classical Modern sculpture, playing with scale, representation and abstraction. Brett Lund is based in Los Angeles and received his MFA from Art Center in 2006. Lund has most recently exhibited in several group exhibitions including Kommando Calvin Cohn at Salon 94, New York and Post Rose at Galerie Christian Nagel, Berlin.
