Branch Gallery is pleased to participate in NEXT Chicago, concurrent with Art Chicago, 2008, exhibiting three video works by Tokyo-based artist Taiyo Kimura. Kimura's work explores the idiosyncrasies and anxieties of modern existence. With wit and humor, he crafts refreshing, engaging, and at times unsettling work that reveals the absurdity of daily life. Kimura’s work has been shown in venues including the Hayward Gallery, London; the 10th Istanbul Biennial, Turkey; the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa, Japan; and the Wuerttembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart, Germany.

Branch Gallery also congratulates artist Stacy-Lynn Waddell for her inclusion in PARTISAN, a curated exhibition of political contemporary art. Waddell will exhibit "Notations", an ongoing series that mines a rich heritage of heat, dirt, and oral traditions in an effort to reveal a truer more complicated image of American pathologies.
