Tony Wight Gallery is pleased to present MOVES THINKS REPEATS PAUSES, a group show featuring the work of Dylan Bailey, Andy Cahill, John Houck, Min Song and Suara Welitoff. The works in the exhibition share a common visual language and similar approaches to image-construction across different artistic mediums including photography, video, painting on paper and canvas, sculpture and book-making.
Dylan Bailey’s work has been in group exhibitions in New York, New Orleans and Providence, RI. He has an upcoming show at National Exemplar Gallery in New York. He studied at RISD and lives and works in New York.
Andy Cahill’s work has been in recent group exhibitions in California, Nebraska, New York and Chicago. He received his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and lives and works in New York.
John Houck had a recent solo exhibition at Franklin Art Works in Minneapolis, MN. In 2011 he showed in group exhibitions at Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY, Regina Rex, Queens, NY, and RESERVENT, Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the Whitney Independent Study Program and attended the Skowhegan School of Painting. He received his MFA from UCLA in 2007 and currently divides his time between Los Angeles, CA and Brooklyn, NY.
Colin Oulighan’s work has been in group exhibitions in New York and Providence, RI. He had a recent solo show at WORK Gallery in Brooklyn, NY. He studied at RISD and lives and works in New York.
Min Song had a recent two-person show at Julius Caesar, Chicago, IL and has upcoming solo shows at Seerveld Gallery, Palos Heights, IL, Happy Collaborationists, Chicago, IL and Michael Jon, Miami, FL. She received her MFA from the University of Illinois-Chicago and lives and works in Chicago.
Suara Welitoff’s work is in the permanent collection of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Worcester Art Museum, List Visual Arts Center, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Western Bridge, Seattle and Deutsche Bank, Boston. In 2011 she had a solo exhibition at Barbara Krakow Gallery, Boston and showed in group exhibitions at Art Miami, Galerie Anita Beckers, Bologna, Italy, Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, NH and Mills Gallery, Boston, MA. She lives and works in Cambridge, MA.
