Watercolor on paper

"Entwine" ads landscape to the architectural subjects envisioned in "Chambers," a body of work based on interior views of an eighteenth century Philadelphia mansion. The landscape elements are based on various locations, including northwestern New Mexico, rural Virginia, and the Cranford Rose Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

I document my subjects and references with drawings and my own photography. These studies are developed in the studio where I use use a free hand with color. The watercolor paintings on paper range in size from 26" x 40" up to 52" x 70". The 100% cotton watercolor paper is not stretched and is “floated” when framed.
