Piers Calvert is a British photographer who has spent several years living and working in Colombia, South America. His latest project "The Way We Are Now," is an investigation into the extent to which ancestral body and face-painting traditions are still practised throughout Colombia's indigenous tribes.
As well as documenting the status quo of what in many cases are fast-disappearing traditions, Piers shows us the beauty and cultural diversity that still exists in some far flung corners of this large country where their identity still lives strong.
The exhibition has been widely applauded in Colombia after exhibiting at various museums including the highly prestigious Museo del Oro, and will now be moving towards Europe.
Piers has also worked extensively for clients back in Europe, such as the FT Weekend Magazine, Monocle, Sunday Telegraph, Sunday Times Magazine, The Economist, and Glamour.
