Arced Work, 2010
Since 2006 I have begun to develop an interdisciplinary practice incorporating sculpture, video, drawing, photography and print. This has lead to my carrying out a PhD at the University of Gloucestershire to develop a theory of incongruity for contemporary sculpture. This theory explores the contradictions that arise from a pluralism of processes, materials and methodologies invoked by such a practice.

Character Building (detail)

These two works, to the right and below, were both produced with found photographs using a technique of sanding the image. 'Character Building' began as a L'Oreal poster featuring the celebrity Cheryl Cole whereas the photograph of Gordon Brown was taken from a Guardian supplement.
