Morwenna Catt works across media in installation, sculptural textile, digital & photography, often working site specifically in 'non art' spaces. These images form part of a current series of work in progress, large scale cargo nets made up of hundreds of identical leatherette or camouflage fabric creatures, stuffed and stitched into geometric formations reminiscent of American quilts.

3 Nuns & Their Handbags (detail)
The Powell & Pressburger Film, Black Narcissus, and a trip to India resulted in "3 Nuns & Their Handbags". The Nun hangings are based on Buddhist Thankas, the faces of the nuns are captured in moments of ambiguous passion. Each Nun has a handbag printed with Priestley matinee idols and Rosary prayers hidden behind zippers and veils. A projection "Au Creux du Desir" has been created around the same source material for a performance event at Hackney Empire Theatre, London.
