Mark Selby

Lets Sit Down and Talk 2008
123
Mark’s practice centres on a critique of the design, functionality and manufacture of technological commodities and domestic products. His sculptures parody the idea of progress through technological invention and are aesthetic prototypes for ultimately pointless objects yet appear to have earnest intent. These inventions often operate as metaphors for a narrative that describes a dysfunctional social or family system. Mark has recently completed his MA at Wimbledon College of Art and is the 2009 recipient of the Clifford Chance Sculpture Award.
