Ivan Candeo was born in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1983. In addition to studies in Photography, Candeo holds a BA in Fine Arts from the Instituto Pedagogico de Caracas, where he is an active member of Taller de Arte Contemporaneo. His first individual show “Dragster” in 2009 was at Oficina # 1, in Caracas. He participated in several group shows including: 8a Edicion Bienal del Mercosur/Ensayos de Geopetrica, Porto Alegre, Brasil; Solo Projects/Artrio, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil; Unresolved Circumstances: Video art from Latin America, The Museum of Latin American Art, Los Angeles, California; Editorial, El Anexo/Arte Contemporaneo, Caracas, Venezuela; Shen a Painting Moves...Something Must be Rotten!, Museo Stemesen, Oslo, Noruega; Patria o Libertad! The Rethorics of Patriotism, Miami Dade College, Miami, FL; Historias de Mapas, Piratas e Tesouros, Itau Cultural, Sao Paulo, Brasil; Venezuelan Pavillion, HotShoe Galllery, Londres. In 2010 Candeo received the Armando Reveron Prize at the Bienal 65 Salon Michelena, Caracas, Venezuela.
