Central to my current work is the concept of artist as assimilator, controller and curator.
My practice has evolved along interdisciplinary lines. It is underpinned and referenced by memory and memorial; a citation to family members lost in the holocaust.
Echoes of labelling and cataloguing the ghost of my much- loved childhood nature museum resonate within the repetition and museum style presentation of my work.
Integral to the work is an initial word-based research period – a filofax of facts. There follows a process of curation; archivings of loss are ordered by me as collector, creator, and final arbiter. A consequent metamorphosis into form is again archived, collated, tagged for view and presented in museum linked formats, transmuting the object’s aesthetic yet again…..
