Working with video and photography, I use lens-based media as material. Exploring the space between the real and the fictional representation. Appropriating still and moving imagery; adapting structural, editorial, and production frameworks, I construct fictional realisms.

Utilizing lens-based media as a tool in the dialog between objective and subjective perceptions of experience and of self. In the transmission of information via the moving image, we are ritualistically attaining the simulacrum of an unattainable real. While the moving image informs our cultural and societal landscape, how much bleeds over seeping into the landscape of personal identity? To what extent does the hyper-reality of the moving image inform the landscape of our experiences, memories and identity? These constructed Fictional Realisms explore a collaboration between reality and hyper-reality, in the construction of our perceptions, experiences and identity. Exploring an attained simulacrum of an unattainable real.
