"Your Place is Empty (series, two)", 2006
The writer Paul Glinkowski, Rootstein Hopkins Research Fellow at the University of the Arts, London, UK, wrote the following of Iravani's MA show at the Wimbledon College of Art in September 2006:

"Cyrus Iravani's contribution to the 2006 MA show at Wimbledon College of art is a haunting series of paintings entitled 'Your Place is Empty'. Seeming perhaps to be based on family snapshots from the 1960s, Iravani reworks this source imagery in sketches and fragments that are pictorially sparse and yet are laden with undertones of sentiment and memory."
"Your Place is Empty (series, three)", 2006

"A young woman appears; cheerful and at ease in spite of her somewhat spartan urban surroundings. Her co-protagonist, an infant in a hooded anorak, seems less assured. His gaze is averted; we sense his vulnerability."
"Your Place is Empty (series, seven)", 2006
"Your Place is Empty (series, eight)", 2006
"Your Place is Empty (series, six)", 2006

" There is an unsettling atmosphere - of fearful presentiment or of impending loss - in these paintings, which brings to mind associations of a similar diminutive, red hooded figure: the drowned child/murderous dwarf in Nicholas Roeg's cinematic rendering of the Daphne du Maurier short story Don't Look Now. The cumulatory effect of Iravani's series of related fragments - each part contributing to a more poignant and melancholy whole - carries echoes of the montage technique employed to memorable effect in the Roeg movie. Beyond the relationship to its source photographs though, there is nothing derivative about 'Your Place is Empty'. It is a powerfully realised and imaginatively compelling series of works by a promising painting talent."
