The Na’ima al-Misriyya Project
A multidisciplinary art / research documentation project that will produce a book, digital music archive and documentary film about this early 20th century phonograph era of Egyptian Arabic music performer. www.naima-project.org

Farid is a founding member of the Contemporary Image Collective, (مركز الصورة المعاصرة or Markaz as-Surah el-Mua'srra), an independent artist-run initiative dedicated to the Visual Image in Cairo. www.ciccairo.com

Web-based internet artwork on the theme of the Rosetta Stone. Co-curated by Isabelle Bernier, artist and curator based in Montréal, and Salah Hassan, a literary critic and academic, Associate Professor, Michigan State University, and co-produced with Studio XX, a Montreal non-profit, artist-run, feminist digital art centre for technological exploration, creation and critique, and OBORO, a Montreal artist-run centre, with a New Media Lab and excellent facilities.
