Recently, I have been working collaboratively with tradesmen, service industry staff and factory staff in the creation of my work, many of whom are not interested in Contemporary Art at all, which I like. Whether it's going back to the Number Plate factory I used to work in and working with a girl obsessed with George Michael, wearing a secret microphone whilst working in a restaurant to record all the thank-you's I said in one day, using a crane driver to use his crane and materials on the building site of a new Contemporary Art museum to create sculptures and deciding to document them via his mobile phone, or using birdsong to control anti-social behaviour, this body of work attempts to address the power of technology and the value of an "artists" creation.

Jacobs' studio is housed within Stand Assembly, a studio group and collective of 18 artists from Nottingham www.standassembly.org
