The Space in Between, ink on paper, 18x24cm

Andrew Smaldone was born in 1978 in the United States. He obtained his MA in Fine Art in 2005 at Central St Martins College of Art and Design in London and a BA in Fine Art in 2001 from The George Washington University, Washington, DC. He has received The Presidential Arts Scholarship 1997-2001, The Art Department Prize in Painting, Dimock Gallery Washington, DC. 2001, a finalist in the Second Premio Internazionale di Pittura Arte Laguna Museo Santa Caterina, Treviso, Italy 2007, and shortlisted for the First London International Creative Competition 2008. In 2005 he co-founded ArtSEEN Journal and is currently co-director of the art promotion platform Number 5 Gmbh Zurich.
