Living in the American center for business, much of my work is about individuals relationships to the corporate world, either as worker, leader, or consumer. Because of my preoccupation with daily life in the city, issues of public and private are a primary focus for me as well. Many of my pieces involve voyeurism of some kind. In CEO Views (2002-4) I videotaped the office views of New York City based corporate executives, and interviewed them about what they liked about their views. In Neighbors (2004) I photographed one floor of two opposing buildings, capturing the intimate view of strangers shared by many office workers.

Other pieces veer from the business subject matter to delve more deeply into ideas about private thoughts and perceptions. In Secret (2003), a collaborative work with Yumi Janairo Roth, unwitting visitors to an exhibition set off the audio of whispered secrets when they sit down on a gallery bench to rest. A recent video installation, Monster (2004), lures viewers down a long hallway with the terrifying audio of a monster roaring, to find instead a video of a small child with "Incredible Hulk" toy hands pretending to be scary.I am interested in the view from the other side of the fence, in shaking up our preconceptions, and investigating the inner lives of ordinary people.
