The Girl/Women characters in my work inhabit a world of make believe that is simultaneously playful and uneasy. Large abstract shapes surround the figures and depict an environment that at times dwarfs them and creates an illusion of a world that isolates and is a potential threat.

Recently I have begun to include dogs in my work. They too are isolated and alone. The aggressive emotions of these animals are a combination of my feelings and that of an animal I adopted from a shelter in Brooklyn.
