My plein air oil paintings and drawings manifest the seen and the unseen nature and spirit of each particular site. Although all of the works are made on location and are based on observation my investigations range from the literal to the abstract. My focus is on the summation and the overall experience of the place -- the heartbeat and buzz of that place.
Each work is executed in a single sitting. The paintings and drawings do not attempt to be literal translations. They are instead intuitive expressions of places observed, considered and reimagined.
