This tension between the images becomes a point of interest. The distance between the marks, the overlapping touch of materials, the almost touch, the I cannot let go touch. The process reiterates the compulsion of need; I create a forest of obsessive marks that consume, overload, over stimulate, spaltter, and repeat.

My work creates connections between objects and drawings, building a community of marks. Nature triggers the work; in the drawings I am trying to create details that evoke the slow and rapid growth in nature. My process connects with the ambiguity of the organic world but is also inspired by surrealism, landscape painting, assemblage, storytelling, how to books, flower arranging, grafitti, cake decorating, flea markets and art brut.
