Page 1

Punto Gris is pleased to present an installation by Ivelisse Jiménez at our stand at Madrid’s contemporary Art Fair Arco’04. - Curators: Peter Doroshenko, Victor Zamudio Taylor, Silvia Karman Cubiña.
Developing from abstract concepts, Ivelisse Jiménez creates works were simultaneity, contraction and uncertainty are inherent characteristics. Her pieces are light and precise constructions were multiple forms are made from diverse as well as ephemeral materials that are adapted and utilize the installation space.
Ten Con Ten, a wall installation constructed primarily of canvas, plastic, acrylic, wire and thread, will occupy the three walls of the project room. The u shaped installation protrudes about 30 inches from the wall. However, the installation can be adapted to fit any space. The work is concerned with issues such as the relation and the communication of the viewer, through the use of abstract language, with the object presented. - Recently, Ivelisse Jiménez has appeared in an article by Raphael Rubinstein in Art in America. also, has participated in exhibitions such as pi,e&i, Punto Gris, San Juan, Puerto Rico, prescient then and now, resonance of support/surface, Dorsky Gallery, New York, 2002, more or less painting, University of Connecticut, 2001 and the s files, Museo del Barrio, New York, 2000.
