Henny Acloque was born in 1979. She studied a Fine Art Degree at University West of England Bristol 1999-2002. Her exhibitions include John Moores 24, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool 2006. Soup of the Day Show, Brixton Village Market London 2004. Her work has also been included in Hayvend Laboratories artwork vending machines project 2006

In my recent work I have reduced the aspect of chance. I now control the paint more . I have a pre-concieved idea of how I might apply the paint to the surface . Choices are made consciously, but accidents and chance also determine the outcome. I am keen for the viewer to maintain a sense of mystery, but improvisation and invention are key to the viewing process.
These paintings are part of an ongoing series inspired by a variety of landscapes and figures encountered in other places, such as magazines, walks, and older paintings. I play with scale within the figures or birds, the unrealistic nature of the relationship creates an enticing predicament, leaving the viewer to question the situation.
