video installation | Brauweiler, Germany 2008
untitled transparencies (moving panels | marking time) is a digital video projection created for an exhibition at Brauweiler Abbey near Cologne, Germany. The 6 minute video loop is projected onto a chapel wall of a 12th century Benedictine monastery. Layers of abstract botanicals and silhouettes of trees and branches travel along the uneven surface of the wall and create an illusion of a three dimensional image. Ambient sounds of nature; of birds, rain and far away thunder, are added to create a meditative moment in time as visitors enter the space.
