Atsuko uses the mediums of photography and installation to investigate aspects of visual perception and representation. The point or moment of conciousness for the viewer is a crucial aspect of her practice. transformation is a basis for the work, transformation through materials, light and images but also of meaning: the point of consciousness transforms the viewer's position. Atsuko uses transformation to question the meaning of words and images to suit our sense of reality and our cultural basis.
