The human being is front and center. Humanity boils down to one representative person of unspecified sex, but within the one, there is endless change. The images are stand-ins for all humanity. It affirms the real and denies it simultaneously. The white and clear resin heads are removed of all color. They reflect on the cyclical process of birth, life, and death. Cleared of individual identity. What I see as a problem in our society is that we are "diversity conscious". Yes, we should celebrate differences (our uniqueness) but in the world as different as we may be, we are all the same. I explore the sameness that unites us as people through conceptual ideas. The forms are reduced to an object of thought, and idea, purifiying and freeing the self.
