These paintings are part of a series of mostly small portraits loosely based on photographs of mediums, spiritualists, and religious visionaries. As a painter I relate to the medium’s desire to commune with something beyond the physical world despite the reality of a limited earth bound body. The tension between our physical and spiritual lives is a frequent theme in my work.
