In my series of mixed media collages on paper, entitled Fantasy Landscapes, dinosaurs seamless inhabit absurd scenarios created by layers of watercolor, ink, colored pencils, stickers, and cutouts clipped from coloring books. Fluorescent colors and glitter shimmer on the surface of the paper.

Myth and politicking mingle in these works. They tap into the viewer’s unconscious, often through associations that are both playful and enigmatic.
Drawing elements from American popular culture and mass media, I construct allegoric scenarios that are expressions both of the collective unconscious and my personal background as journalist, voyager and adoptive New Yorker.
My stories are surreal and open-ended, absurd and humorous, utopian, and at times dystopian and apocalyptic.
I invent them in an attempt to recapture my childhood, and to recover a lost sense of mystical participation in nature's processes in times of exacerbated consumerism, technology and information.
